About our Services
Product and revenue forecasting solutions are tailored to specific company needs, including applications that project sales and market penetration for a single product in one market, and global systems that support multiple products for multi-regional market entry. These custom applications are based on MS Excel and MS Access for easy access and use by the client. TDR and the client determine factors that drive the markets, such as patient and sales force populations, trends in incidence and prevalence for the disease/therapy class, expected competitor product entries, number of countries/markets served, time horizon of the forecast, and pricing/reimbursements. TDR provides additional insights to the product forecasting application through primary market research projects and other secondary data services.
The principals of TDR have developed market forecasts for products in preclinical, clinical development and post marketing environment and in virtually all therapeutic areas. These forecasts have been used to make strategic decisions regarding further product development and marketing programs, or to prioritize indications according to market potential and likelihood of success. These forecasts have also helped determine optimal locations of production facilities based on projected global and regional demand for products.
Case Study
Example of a recent forecasting application developed by TDR
After a recent merger, a company engaged TDR to create a process to obtain information on the potential market opportunity of the acquired company's product portfolio in eighteen countries where the products were not previously marketed. In addition, these forecasts were added to an established portfolio cash flow model to guide strategic evaluations for development, regulatory and supply chain decisions.
A user-friendly, customized Excel-based template was created by TDR to provide consistent data inputs across all countries. Data obtained in the template included market share, price, package size ratio, sales and marketing expenses, and sampling requirements. The template also included all relevant background materials directly accessible within the Excel forecast application. Many elements, such as historical IMS MIDAS data, patent and licensing information, and product adoption curves were pre-programmed into drop down menus based on selected country and product combinations. All other materials, such as product profiles and positioning were embedded as links within the application for easy access.
The data obtained from the template was then consolidated into an MS Access database and formatted to fit the client's cash flow model. TDR performed the necessary modifications and additions to the client's cash flow model to analyze the product opportunities alongside the entire portfolio.
